For journalist Eliza Bennett, summers in Sweetbriar Cove were her happiest childhood memories. Now that she’s been unceremoniously fired, she hopes the small town will work its magic again and help get her life back on track. A 5 STAR ROMANCE
A Melody Grace novel is something akin to sitting in front of a blazing fireplace snuggled in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. It makes you feel warm and cozy inside and out. And once again she has accomplished this feeling for me with her latest Sweetbriar Cove novel, No Ordinary Love.
Eliza and Cal come from completely different backgrounds: hers one of ordinary life and living paycheck to paycheck and his one of wealth and galas and having everything he could want. But when their lives unexpectedly cross paths, the electrical current which passes between them begins to ignite their souls. Though they’ve both had relationships in the past, no one has ever pushed and challenged them or made them feel as deeply and connected as they do to each other. But incidents from Eliza’s past are always hovering at the surface making her question whether she would ever been able to fit into Cal’s world. And Cal’s family responsibilities always seem to overshadow what truly means the most to him. Will Eliza and Cal find their way to the path that finally leads them to the future they both deserve filled with the love and passion the find when they’re in each other’s arms?
I must admit I have only read a couple of the novels in this series, but Melody Grace always has a way of pulling me right back in from the moment I open one of her books. And No Ordinary Love has done just that. Her characters are always intelligent and confident and full of inner-strengths while simultaneously being uncertain, soft and sweet. Eliza knows her own mind and never hesitates to say what she feels. Cal was raised to be proper and well-mannered and has always held his feelings close. But when their lives collide, they both feel a connection of souls which they’ve never before experienced which finally allows them to open their hearts to each other. Eliza is always pushing Cal which seems to ignite a passion inside, and the bantering they exchange is so much fun to read.
All of Melody Grace’s characters are fantastic and real. Each time I read one of her books, I’m ready to pack up my things and move to the cove as well. They’re just simply magical and overtly entertaining. I always feel a little lost when they end as I know I’m going to miss Sweetbriar Cove… I always do.
